Traditional saunas blast the air around you until it's hard to breathe. Infrared uses light waves to warm your body directly, at a much lower temperature. You still get a deep sweat, just without feeling like you walked into an oven.

We've got six Sunlighten mPulse programs, each built for something specific: Relaxation, Detox, Pain Relief, Weight Loss, Cardio, and Anti-Aging. Not sure which one's yours? Ask us, or check the descriptions on our Sauna page.

Drink water in the hours before you come in. Eat something light 60 to 90 minutes beforehand, since showing up starving or stuffed makes it harder to relax. A short walk or a little stretching beforehand helps too.

Shower first if you can, and skip the lotion. Clean, bare skin lets your pores actually open up and sweat the way they're supposed to. Lotion just sits on top and gets in the way.

Swimsuit, loose clothes, or just wrap up in one of our towels. Wear whatever you'd actually be comfortable sweating in.

It's safe for most people. Check with your doctor first if you're pregnant, have a cardiovascular condition, take medication that affects heat tolerance, or have anything that makes it hard for you to sweat. Not sure if that's you? Call us before you book.

Fresh towels, Bluetooth speakers, chromotherapy lighting, red light therapy built in, cool essential oil towels for afterward, and spring water with electrolyte packets if you want them. You really don't need to bring a thing.

Between 100 and 130 degrees, depending on your program. Traditional saunas run 180 to 200. Most people find ours comfortable right from the start, not something to grit your teeth through.

Whatever you want. Music, a podcast, quiet, meditation, light stretching, staring at the wall thinking about nothing. We've also got coloring books and puzzle books if you'd rather keep your hands busy while you sweat. There's no correct way to sit in a warm box. Just let the heat do its thing.

30 to 45 minutes, depending on which one you pick. We book the full hour so you've got room to arrive, settle in, finish up, and cool down without rushing.

The programs are preset for a specific time and temperature, so you can't adjust those mid-session. What you can always do is get out whenever you want. No pressure to grind through the full time, especially early on.

Step out, sit down, drink some water. That's what the cool towels are for. You can always take a break and go back in, or just call it a session. Nobody's grading you on heat tolerance.

INFRARED SAUNA

After your session

  • Most people describe it as a full exhale: calm, loose, relaxed. Some feel a little energized, some feel ready to nap. Both mean it worked.

  • Sit for a few minutes before you stand up. Drink water or an electrolyte drink. Your body just did real work and deserves a beat to catch up. The cool towels help bring your temperature down before you head out.

  • Totally normal. Your core temp stays up a bit after you're done, so a little extra sweating afterward just means the sauna did its job.

  • Better mood, looser muscles, a general sense of ease that can carry into the evening. Sleep is often deeper on sauna days too. Feeling a little tired afterward is normal, that's just recovery mode kicking in.

  • New to it? Start with 1 session a week while your body adjusts. Regulars often land on 3 to 4 times a week. For general wellness, 2 to 3 sessions a week is a solid rhythm. Consistency beats going hard once and disappearing for a month.

  • Definitely, and we're big fans of this. Sauna pairs great with float therapy, massage, and vibroacoustic therapy. Do the sauna first: your muscles are already warm, your circulation's up, and everything after it works a little better. It's also better for massage specifically, since your pores are open from sweating and there's no oil or cream on your skin yet to get in the way. If you're floating next, you'll shower in between, so the timing works out fine. Our favorite order around here is sauna, float, then massage, a full reset from start to finish. We also offer packages for combining services, so ask us about those when you book.
